This client needed to distract its residents from hanging around this double door. There were several challenges with this project. The first was to provide areas for the windows and to make sure they lined up and to camoflage them as something else, platters! Weight was also an issue as it was an electric door and could not support a lot of weight. Another challenge was to find a material that could withstand getting hit and run into with wheelchairs on a daily basis without cracking, scratching too much and breaking. I tried regular plexi-glass first and that broke right away. After some research and asking around I settled on a material called Lexan, tough stuff. It has worked and is intact.
